LASI residency 2025
Due to a record amount of great quality applications we chose two artists to participate in the 2025 residency. The residencies are funded by the Finnish businessman and art collector Kyösti Kakkonen.
The visiting artists were American-Belgian artist John Moran and one of UK’s most prominent glass artists Katherine Huskie.
Moran creates politically and socially engaged glass art by sculpting hot glass. He won Netflix's competitive reality show Blown Away in 2022. www.backdoorart.com
Huskie’s work has a strong identity with form and texture and she was named Wimbledon Championship Artist in 2018.
Residency artists worked in Nuutajärvi on 6-16 February with a public hotshop demonstration on Friday 7th February 2025.
