Residency
LASI residency is back again!
This year due to a record amount of great quality applications we have chosen two artists to participate in the 2025 residency. The residencies are funded by the Finnish businessman and art collector Kyösti Kakkonen.
The first chosen artist is a bi-national, politically and socially engaged hot glass sculptor John Moran. He is an American-Belgian who participated in and won Netflix's competitive tv show Blown Away in 2022. The second artist is one of UK’s most prominent female glass blowers Katherine Huskie. Huskie’s work has a strong identity with form and texture and she was named Wimbledon Championship Artist in 2018.
Residency artists are working in Nuutajärvi from 6th to 16th of February and you can come see their demonstration on Friday the 7th of February 2025. After the demo glassy people are welcome to come sauna and network with the residency artists at the Pruuki sauna.
